Get Fit McAllen Weight Loss and Transformation Challenge

Since 2018 McAllen, Texas has been rated the Fattest City in America. According to the Rio Grande Valley Diabetes Association, 70% of the population in the RGV is overweight, pre-diabetic and or diabetic. Texas has since passed New York in Total Corona Virus cases in 2021 and the Adult Obesity rate continues to increase according to the CDC and City Data.

But there is hope:

1. EXERCISE: 3 to 5 days for 60min of activity can lower the obesity rate and reduce health risks.
2. NUTRITION: Meal planning, grocery tours and food education programs encourage better food choices.
3. MENTAL HEALTH: Life coaching and stress management improve mental health and reduce depression. 

The Body Engineer will be launching an Outdoor Group Exercise Program and Online Transformation Challenge to improve the health statistics of our community and put McAllen in the direction to becoming the Fittest City in America.

THE BENEFITS

There are many benefits that the City of McAllen and an internationally recognized Fitness Trainer can achieve when collaborating to improve the general health of the community with an organized and endorsed exercise program.

The program will:

GET-FIT McALLEN PROGRAM 

  • OUTDOOR GROUP FITNESS PROGRAM: 4 Week Program of fitness instruction, nutritional counseling and motivational training with 1 week break in between training camps. Participants will be inspired and have fun while participating in a fantastic workout led by Certified Adventure Fitness Trainer, Isaac Medina BSME, CPT.
  • ONLINE TRAIN-AT-HOME PROGRAM: This option is also available for those who wish to participate in the challenge, but can’t physically make it to the camp. They can train at home using their own exercise equipment or at their local fitness facility. Minimum equipment required (yoga mat and 2 pairs of dumbbells).
  • TIME SLOTS:
    • 5:30 AM, Monday – Friday.
    • 9:00 AM, Tuesday FREE Classes 
    • 6:30 PM, M/T/W/Th
    • Other midday and afternoon sessions will also be considered.
